Would like to buy LCD TV and just wondered if anyone has looked at places that sell these?
Know I could go to Carrefor but just wondered if anywhere different to try.

Hi,

Best selection I have found is in Media Mkt Elche - 1st exit off the motorway past the garages and its on the left by Carrefour & PC world - also think they have a few in there.

Just be aware that Carrefour are not best known for their after sales service.

We're after a 32" LCD HD TV & our friends say we should go to Media Mart at Parque Mediterráneo, Cartegena http://www.playaparaiso.org/parque.htm

If you are in La Marina, then the Media Mkt in Elche is much nearer to you.

No doubt, Paul, but our friends have been to both & say Cartegena one's best though so up to you Jaygee. Friends say it's easy enough to get to. These LCD TVs are not cheap & I'd personally want to look at the greatest selection.

I would be interested what the prices are for them in spain or if they are cheaper say like in Tesco, or curreys.Dave.

Never been to the Media Mkt in Cartagena, but the one in Elche is big - doubt there's a great deal between them.

I think TV's here are getting a little cheaper - 5 years ago the UK was cheaper, but now the gap seems to have narrowed.

There's always an offer or two on TV's anyway - so as long as they have the size you want and you are not to fussy about the brand, you'll find a similar deal to that in the UK.

At least a cup of coffee here is not £3.00+ which I pay back in the UK.

I agree with Paul although I have been to both and I would say they are almost the same store

had just bought a 32 in LG at home for £347 + delivery of about £20 through Pixmania over the internet

the same model in Elche was about €400 if I remember rightly so not a lot in it

Media Markt is the same everywhere - it's German chain and they stock the same things in every store more or less throughout Europe. The big stores may be slightly cheaper, but the little store next to the CAM bank on the strip used to be very good too- excellent after-sales service if anything went wrong. Free delivery and installation as well. It has recently changed its name though so I am not sure the same people are still running it.

Agree that the little shop next to cam bank were excellent but went in the other day and the staff have changed, they seemed friendly enough though. They may still offer the same service as the last ones but time will tell.

Among LCD’s Samsung and Sony are the best brands to go for in my opinion. Why don you give a look at this www.checkcost.co.uk/lcd-tvs/c/4329 They have a wide range of consumer electronic products and found some cool LCD’s with brands like Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, View Sonic and many more. I got a good offer here. Hope this Help You!!

Many people have advised me don't buy TVs etc from Carrefour - their prices are VERY good but the back-up and service is non-existant.

We bought two large LCD TVs from Tien21 in Almoradi - one for us and one for a friend. Initailly, they weren't the cheapest, but they gave me a decent discount for buying two, delivered installed and set up free, and even threw in two wall mounting brackets.

A slight problem developed with the sound of one within about eight months - they came out straight away and exchanged it for a brand new one without any quibble at all!

Would deffo recommend Tien21 for any electrical stuff any time!

Steve.
