Once again, I'd like to wish Jan a happy birthday for tomorrow, with thanks for keeping the forum going.

I am or have been a member of several forums, but this is far and away the best of the lot. An excellent bunch of members, and the forum is well controlled - long may it be so.

Enjoy the day, love.

Thank you everyone.

Not a brilliant end of year for us Bob as we had to take our little dog Charlie to the vets for his last journey a few days before Xmas. He was 15 and had dementia plus other things wrong - we had to end his suffering, but it was a very hard thing to do . We've both been feeling down since then, on and off - we had him 13 years, so understandable I think.

We went to La Zenia on my birthday. Couldn't find a thing I liked (probably not in the right frame of mind) ended up buying a pair of ?5 slippers - so did Don lol. We were going to have lunch at the pasta all you can eat place there that our friends like, but pasta and pizza is not gluten free, and nothing else I fancied, so gave that a miss and went instead to the Chinese place opposite Mercadona. It was ok, but we still prefer the Wok in Guardamar. Spend the rest of the day crocheting as I'm trying to finish a cute Dracula doll I'm making for my daughter. No lynching for Don - he always tries his best to please me xxx

jan were so sorry about charlie, can only imagine how sad that was for you both, but if its any consolation knowing you 2 he must have had a nice life, our thoughts are with you.
when you say the wok guardamar do ypu mean the wok buffet?.....if so have you tried the one outskirts of quesada in carpark?thats our favourite one knocks spots off guardamar in our opinion!!
i wasnt just saying it to be nice jan i really would like to buy you and don a drink sometime soon.

So sorry to hear about Charlie. He was a grand little chap, and we always used to look forward to seeing him. We know just how you feel as we had to do the same thing several years ago with our rescue dog Sasha, who we'd had for 15 years. It's a terrible wrench, but we went out and rescued a cat, Mitzy, who has been with us for 11 years, and will be 16 this year. So i guess we will be going through a similar scene in the next few years. However, we don't regret having either of them, and neither I guess do you. Will you get another?

No more pets for us Brian. I've had dogs, cats and other small critters all my life, but as much as we enjoyed having them as part of the family, we want to have the freedom to go away on a whim. Besides, another puppy or kitten would probably outlive us!

Yes, we've said much the same, but who knows when the time comes, we may succumb. any way, enjoy your new freedom.
