Graham,Many thanks for all your updates on this post.I'm pleased to report that I now have News 24 back and can also receive BBC 3 and 4 and some BBC 1 regional channels which were previously unavailable. The picture quality also seems to have improved.

I don't want to spoil the fun but we should remember this is only a temporary situation.
1N is due to be moved to 19º as soon as new satellites are launched probably towards the end of the year. The forecast is that these will have very tight spot beams and we on the Costa Blanca may then find ourselves struggling again. Make the most of 1N while it stays at 28º !!!!!!

It is true, that the 1N is in a temporary role, as has been stated previously. Some reports say end 2012, others say into 2013 - general concenus seems about a year. However the whole 'spot beam' issue is very much internet gossip as no one has made any official annoucements regarding this.

Signal could stay the same, get better, or get worse. No one does know.

Many said that whe 1N came into play we would not receive TV, opposite was true. All opinion, rather than fact. However small dishes are much cheaper than large ones, however one way or another you need to pay to get UK TV in Spain - whether by satellite dish with one off payment or by rebroadcaster monthly - where they cannot also be assured of broadcasting future TV.

It's fair to say most private customers we have installed 1.45's and 1.9's for over the last few years are very happy, as they have continually received more channels over time, not less, as for the future - pass the crystal ball :)

Are you seriously saying that your crystal ball in the early 60's didn't tell you that there would be colour T.V. more than 2 channels,we would get news abroad that was less than 4 days old, that us ordinary people could even afford to get on planes to travel, walk on the streets talking rubbish into little plastic things that were glued to our ears,or even use this system to talk to somebody we didn't even know just to talk a load of nonsense.
