COSTA BLANCA FORUMS: PALOMA - Viewing Profile

I have been a very busy lady....until now, as I am actively retired. Foreign Languages have always been some of my interests and I used to be an accredited Interpreter and Translator in Spanish-French-English and a teacher of those languages. Also, I worked for an airline and owned a travel agency.
Most of these experiences took place in Australia, where I lived for 25 years, but, for the past 10 years I have been living in the North of Spain (Basque Country) which is my homeland. I have also lived in Argentina and studied in Paris and both my husband and myself are keen travellers, having visited many countries and regions of the world.
We have two beautiful, grown up girls, working and studying very successfully in San Francisco. We regularly visit them.
Although I love San Sebastian and I have most of my family living here, the climate is not very convenient for me and we are considering buying a small house in a nice place near the sea in Alicante.
My husband, who is a retired architect, and I are both very keen sailors, so we may add a small sailing boat to the package. We have visited the area a long time ago and we know that it has changed a lot since our last visit, so we intend to go there as soon as the sale of a small watermill we own in Tuscany is finalised.
Besides languages, I enjoy cooking, music, travel, history, genealogy, classical ballet, sailing and walking.
We love to have friends from different countries as we find that this enriches our life and we hope to find many good friends in Costa Blanca.
