This is a new restaurant at the crossroads on the Almoradí - Rafal road. Its opposite El Cruce where El Rey used to be.

It does menu del dia for 9 euros, day and night, Monday to Thursday and for 12 euros at the weekend. There is also an a la carte menu and a wide variety of tapas.

We've been a few times and the food and service has been excellent, maybe not the huge quantities you get elsewhere but always beautifully cooked and tasty.

Most of the staff speak English as they started off at the Marjal campsite.

Well worth a visit.

Beat me to it, Saladar! As you say, well worth a visit.

The chef is Jesús who used to be at La 'U' - he recognised and greeted us when we went, as he'd fed us quite a few times at La 'U'. Then Margaret poked her nose in the kitchen when we left and got a cuddle off him.

So far we've only had the MDD, but are tempted by the a la carte, especially the turbot, suckling pig, suckling lamb and goat kid. We did notice that, a couple of weeks ago, a small field nearby became populated by goats and kids - now we know why.

Visited this restaurant last night and was very impressed!!

Decided to go a la carte and great fun trying to translate Spanish menu but waiters were a tremendous help

Well presented and very tasty and plenty of it all washed down with the house red which was very drinkable

Only ones in at 1930 and looked like singer setting up for a session later in the evening

Not cheap but well worth the money

Certainly will go again

A further comment on this.

We went Sunday at 1430 for the weekend Menu del Dia and were told it was finished and would have to have a la carte. This took us a bit by surprise, it appears there is a finite amount of MdD they are willing to serve at the weekend.
