Karen´s Paintings

Karens work´s are of many varying styles.  In some you will see a bold contemporary style & in others a factual representative imagery or creations drawn from throughts or experiences.

Some picture´´s such as, ¨California Dreaming¨and ¨¨The Mechanic¨evolved from fixations. These start out as impressions, dreams, emotions or memories and over time, solidify into ¨Auras´of colur and shape without any form of identity at all.  This time can be frustratingly irritating until finally this ´aura´metamorphises into a real and visible entity.

None of these paintings are ever contrived, they are merely inevitabilities.

Other pictures such as, ¨The Ruin¨ and ¨Sanctuary¨ are a mix of reality and dreams, a confusion of both worlds.

Some of these images are self explanatory as they are simply factoral representations of picturesque and charming places that Karen has visited and found inspirational.

Whatever your taste in art (and art is always objective) Karen paints such a wide diversity of subjects, and builds so many layers into her art, it generally speaks on more than one level to every person.
